We are pretty sure You all guys still remember Meg Ryan‘s famous fake orgasm scene in the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry met Sally followed by Estelle Reiner’s iconic line “I’ll have what she’s having”.
If so, the site of that scene was Katz’s Delicatessen (also known as Katz’s of New York City): since its founding in 1888, it has become popular among locals and tourist alike for its pastrami sandwiches and hot dogs, both of which are widely considered among New York’s best.
Katz’s was founded by Willy and Benny Katz, two Polish Jews who emigrated to the USA.
And son of a Polish Jew who also emigrated to the USA is Bernie Sanders too, who was born in Brooklyn.
Bernie Sanders is a Democratic candidate for President of the United States. In 2006, he was elected to the U.S. Senate after 16 years as Vermont’s sole congressman in the House of Representatives. Bernie is now serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote.
If most of You are wondering what Bernie Sanders has got to do with gelato, here we go: maybe most of you are not aware that Ben Cohen, one of the co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and a longtime Sanders supporter, has since last January been making a special flavor for his home-state senator.
